Tealspiration Luncheon

Today was the first Tealspiration Luncheon at Belterra Park Casino! It was a beautiful inspiring event! A special thank you to all of our sponsors.
Doug Green served as our emcee. We feel so very grateful to have such an honorable man who acts as our State Representative be apart of our event. Hope Jamison, Jaymie's oldest daughter shared her mom's story and how our organization began. Hope then presented a $1,000 check to ABCap to help fund women with gynecological testing after they receive an abnormal Pap smear.

The meal was delicious, and the dessert was Devine. As everyone ate, the decorated panty contest took place! We had amazing panties in the contest. All panties will be hung on the Purple People Bridge on July 11th.

Hope sung "Let it Be", and knocked it out of the house! Lucreta Bowman, from City Gospel Mission talked about "Hope" in an inspiring speech. We were so thankful to have her at our event. To learn more about Lucreta visit her website at www.lucretabowman.com.

We then were able to induct four woman into our Guardians Of Hope.
Tracy Baer is a recent survivor of Ovarian Cancer. She listened to her body, and caught it in early stages, which saved her life.
Melissa Myers, a single mother of 5 boys, is battling cervical cancer. In June 2014 she was given one year to live. Melissa is currently battling for her life, and begins another round of a chemo cocktail in April. Melissa is a selfless person, raising awareness for gynecological cancer as she battles her own fight.
Meganne is a teal angel losing her battle to cervical cancer at the age of 22. Her mother, Kera now has made it her mission to ask everyone she meets, "Are you current on your Pap smear?" So, ladies answer her question, "Are you?"
Kelley lost her battled to cervical cancer in August 2014 only 6 months after her diagnoses. Kelley left behind 3 beautiful children ages 7,6 and 1. Kelley's family says don't think any symptoms are normal. See your doctor ASAP.

Thank you to everyone who took time out of their day to be empowered, encouraged, and educated about gynecological cancer! Our event was a success but only because of you!!!
