Volunteer Spotlight: Ginger Roberts

Meet one of our Board Members, Ginger Roberts!

This amazing lady is Jaymie's aunt, Cheryl's sister.  Ginger has been part of our awareness committee, playing a large part in attending health fairs and representing the Foundation and helping to spread awareness for gynecological cancers. 

Ginger was asked why she volunteers for the Jaymie Jamison Foundation for Hope. She replied, "Well, of course the main reason is because Jaymie was my niece and we all really miss her. It helps to do something to try to make sense of her death and to try to make sure we get the word out to as many women as we can to save others the pain we are feeling. Since we started the foundation my reasons have evolved and I just want to save women, sisters, children, aunts and mothers from this disease."

She was asked why she feels thebFoundation is important. She said, "The foundation is important because we can make women aware of the cost of neglecting themselves. This disease is deadly and when I look at our Wall of Angels, Fighters and Survivors I realize that it is taking so many young women. We can't give up or get tired or bored, we have to get out there and fight for women. Jaymie would have been proud of what we are doing!"

Ginger was asked what her favorite event is. She said "What is your favorite event?

I would have to say that Panties Across the Bridge is my favorite event, but the luncheon comes in a close second."

Panties Across the Bridge 2014

Can you believe it is December already? That means we are roughly 7 months from Panties Across the Bridge! The date is set for July 12, 2014 at the Purple People Bridge in Newport, KY. Can you believe this will be the 4th annual event? Where does time go!? 

We have been busy planning for the 4th Annual event and we need YOUR help!!

We are needing you to collect any types of freebies for our raffle booth. You know the things you receive in the mail and won't use (detergent, make-up, water bottles, lotions, etc). We can place these in the raffle boxes to expand the variety, as you know everyone is a winner 😉. 

We are looking for donations for the raffle as well. Please contact Shannon at shelton@jaymiejamisonfoundation.org if you would like letters to try and secure donations for the Foundation. 

We are in need of panties :-). Schedule your panty parties now with your girlfriends! Decorate them and make them your own! Bring them to the bridge OR mail them to us to hang. You may mail them to:

We are currently looking for Bridge sponsors! We will be lighting the Bridge teal again this year, and are in need of lighting sponsors. If you would like to help in securing sponsorship for the 2014 Bridge event please email Shannon at shelton@jaymiejamisonfoundation.org. 

We are looking for celebrity autographed panties!!!! Mail a pair to a celebrity! Try and get them autographed at football or baseball games!

We have a band line up in the works! Bands to include: Hope Jamison, Jordan Jackson, Noah Smith, and Spearpoint.

Volunteer spotlight: Meet Chelsea Lovett

Meet our volunteer in the spotlight: Chelsea Lovett!!

Chelsea has been volunteering for the Jaymie Jamison Foundation for Hope from the beginning of the organization in 2011. When asked why she volunteers Chelsea replied, "I volunteer for the Jaymie Jamison Foundation for Hope not only because I knew Jaymie, but because it's an opportunity to be a vessel of information to others. Gynecological cancers are still deemed unmentionable because the word 'vagina' is still stigmatized in our society.  The Foundation has given me the opportunity to let others know that is okay to talk about gynecological matters. Speaking and knowing about these cancers create knowledge in others, and thus encourage prevention and awareness.  That is why Panties Across the Bridge is my favorite event. What better way to let the public know and realize that gynecological cancers are still cancers. They effect people in the same way any other cancers do. PATB gives everyone involved with the Foundation the opportunity to create an awareness in someone, which may in turn save someone's life..and that's all that matters."

Volunteer Spotlight

Meet Missy Frazee!

Missy Frazee has been a volunteer from the very beginning. We would label her as a professional balloon arch maker, dedicated volunteer and a valued friend. When asked why she volunteers Missy replied "Jaymie was my friend and helping other families was very important to her.  I have a 2nd family with the foundation. ". Missy said Panties Across the Bridge is her favorite event. She wants everyone to get the message: "GET CHECKED.."

Meet the Moore's

Meet Nancy and Harlan Moore!

Nancy and Harlan have been volunteers since te very beginning. Harlan has been climbing the Purple People Bridge to hang banners and string the very wire we hang panties on. He is always behind the "construction" aspect of all of our Foundation work with his buddy Jeff. Nancy works daylight to dark hanging panties every year at Panties Across the Bridge. Any event we have you will find her there working non-stop. These two are very dedicated volunteers for our volunteers. When asked why they volunteer Nancy answered: "We volunteer because we believe  in the cause of the foundation, the need of volunteers to make it work and we feel that this is what God wants us to do. Our favorite event is, of course, the Panties Across The Bridge. "

Thank you God for blessing us with these two amazing volunteers. Without them this Foundation wouldn't be what it is today. 

Volunteer Spotlight- Meet Jon

Meet Jon Jamison!!

Jon Jamison was Jaymie's husband, the father of their 4 beautiful children, and the CEO of the Jaymie Jamison Foundation for Hope. Jon and Jaymie were so thankful for the help and love they received from family, friends, coworkers, and people in their community. The Foundation was created to help other families in the same situation as the Jamison's and make ALL women aware of gynecological cancers. 

Jon says "The reason I volunteer for the Foundation is to help make a difference in people’s lives, and to give back to the communities, friends and family that have so graciously giving to the foundation and my family.  Jaymie ask us to share her story with the hope that not one person or one family would have to go through the struggles of dealing with these horrible diseases.  Educating women and their families on how important it is for them to get there yearly check -ups “no matter what anybody tells you” is the main message we as a foundation want to send. "

Meet Monica Baker!!

Monica Baker is Jaymie's best friend, and has been since they were little. Monica has been part of the Foundation since the very beginning. When asked why she volunteers Monica said, "I volunteer because Jaymie was my best friend and sister at heart. I also volunteer because I am a gynecological cancer survivor." Monica says Panties Across the Bridge is her favorite event.
