A question a lot of people have when they know someone who has recently been diagnosed is: what can I do to help?
Looking back at the days when Jaymie was recently diagnosed Jaymie was helped out in numerous ways! Here are a few of the things Jaymie appreciated and enjoyed the most.
1. Jaymie enjoyed receiving get well cards! Especially funny ones.
2. Jaymie appreciated meals. Even though Jaymie could not eat she still was happy having her family receiving the meals and it was a relief for her knowing they had a good meal.
3. Be yourself! Don't act gloomy! Act how you normally would BEFORE the diagnoses.
4. Humor! Make them laugh.
5. Gas cards. Traveling back and forth to treatment is a financial strain.
6. Give them soft clothes and blankets. Jaymie enjoyed anything that was soft and warm.
7. Make a scrapbook with them. It's a way for them to focus on their favorite memories.
8. If you have a baby in the family- bring over the baby! Babies always bring joy into someone's life!
