Jaymie's Symptoms: Cervical Cancer Awareness Month

January is cervical cancer awareness month. Each day this month we are going to share a different woman's story with cervical cancer. Please focus on their symptoms. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms please see your Dr immediately. Early detection saves lives.

On this 1st day of January we will naturally begin with Jaymie's story.

Jaymie had not been to see her gynecologist in 3 years. She had not had a yearly pap or screening. Jaymie's first symptom was spotting between periods and pelvic pain. After this continued she began to have bleeding during intercourse. Later she began to have a foul smelling discharge, that at times would gush. Jaymie confused this symptom with possibly being a sign for a bladder issue. Jaymie's abdominal pain continued to increase and she began to feel something in side of her. At this point Jaymie went to her Dr. The "something inside her" was her tumor. Jaymie was
Diagnosed with cervical cancer.

Jaymie had a hysterectomy and began chemo and radiation treatment. Jaymie experienced complications and it was found her cancer had spread. Jaymie fought with more chemo. Jaymie fought, and fought hard. Jaymie lost her battle to cervical cancer 10 months after her diagnoses.

Jaymie lived everyday to the fullest. She left behind her 4 beautiful children; Hope, Alexia, Madison and JET. She was 34 years old.

Jaymie wanted others to be aware of this disease, as she did not know anything about it. You don't hear much or anything about cervical cancer. We are here to change that! Please share our blog with your friends and family so we ALL know the symptoms of cervical cancer. Early detection is key to ending cervical cancer deaths!
